TIMPOOCHEE BARBERSHOP EVENT IS COMING UP
The Camerata is in the last stages of preparation for this weekend's barbershop festivities at Camp Timpoochee and concert at NHS. Details are available for the event if you scroll down this page. Remember, this event is a required, graded one. Boys must be in place ready to sing by 6:30 PM Friday at Camp Timpoochee. Saturday's practice will start at 8:30 AM, back at the camp. The afternoon has no scheduled activites. Report time for the 7:00 PM concert at NHS will be announced at rehearsal. Dress for the concert: tuxedos.
Friday evening at 6:00 PM, September 16, marks the Joe Breeden Barbershop Clinic at Camp Timpoochee. The workshop will end at 9:00 PM and resume the next morning, Saturday, September 17, at 9:00 AM back at the camp. Singing will end at about 12:00 PM with a free lunch in the camp cafeteria. All Niceville HS Camerata members are required to attend this event. The workshop will end in a concert at the NHS auditorium at 7:00 PM Saturday evening. Tickets for parents and friends are $10.00, available at the door (This event is a production of the Emerald Coast Chorus. All proceeds from ticket sales go to support the operation of this barbershop organization. In turn, they support our Camerata with barbershop music, clinicians and musical support). Camp Timpoochee is located on the Okaloosa/Walton county line off of SR 20 east of Bluewater Bay, about one mile past the new road that links SR 20 to the Mid-Bay Bridge. Singers must provide their own transporation. Carpooling, coordinating transportation with other parents is advised. There is not charge for student participation. Attire for rehearsals is chorus shirt/chorus spirit shirt. Tuxedos will be worn for the concert.
