Opus One is the highest level chorus with 17 junior and senior members. This show choir represents the best of the best at Niceville High School.
Niceville's Opus One performed for the roll-out of the new American fighter, the F-35 Lighting II just three weeks ago. The ensemble is now packing its bags for a trip to our state capital where they will sing at the invitation of Niceville' resident and Senate President-Elect Don Gaetz. Next Monday, September 19, Opus One will sing at a breakfast honoring Senator Gaetz in the old Florida Historical Capital. The same afternoon, Opus One will perform "The Star Spangled Banner" and "America the Beautiful" on the floor of the Senate chamber during the swearing-in ceremony for Senator Gaetz. Opportunties for this 32nd Edition of Opus One is a result of the hard work and dedication of the three decades of the Niceville choral ensemble whose shoulders on which they now stand. Good luck to Opus One as they set out Sunday afternoon to represent our choral music program, our school and our community in Tallahassee. (The trip is being funded by private donations. No school or public funds are being used for this great educational opportunity.)

OPUS ONE SELECTED TO PERFORM at the CAPITOL
Opus has been selected by President-Designate Senator Don Gaetz of Niceville to present the music for his swearing-in ceremony in Tallahassee at 3:00 PM EDST, September 19 on the senate floor in the state capitol building. The ensemble will also perform for a celebration breakfast earlier the same day. The event gives the choral music program an opportunity to experience the workings of our government first-hand, a high-level performance experience while showing the rest of the state the outstanding musical product Okaloosa County and Niceville High School has to offer.
